Investigation: NC School of the Deaf
Date: April 25th, 2009
History: There is so much history behind this place we wouldn't know where to begin.
Claims: People have reported paranormal activity for quite sometime. There have been various
reports of apparitions, shadows, feelings of being watched, cold spots, etc. There was a
confirmed death in the 1920s, involving a student who fell down the stairwell. Rumors also have
circulated about a suicide and an accidental death in the bathroom in one of the rooms but neither
could be confirmed in our research yet.
Personal Experiences (Investigators): We started off in an abandoned school building
on the campus. EMF was sketchy, due to old lighting. We all felt a heavy feeling... creepy feeling.
While exploring, we conducted an evp session, which we caught a whisper. Then we tried the
divining rods, which seemed to be pretty responsive. It was notably exciting when we let the client
(who is hearing impaired) hold the rods while we asked questions and were getting yes and no
responses when she didn't know which was yes and which was no or what we were asking.
Next, we explored the main building. Things were pretty quiet for awhile. Then Eric heard what
sounded like a chair moving and kids playing in one of the common rooms. We then went to the
second floor and were able to get responses with noises to questions we would ask.
Evidence: Will have posted soon.
Conclusion: With the rich history and many different backgrounds of all who have occupied the
buildings on campus at the NC School for the deaf, there is bound to be at least residual energy
remaining there. It was such an HONOR to be allowed to inestigate there and we are so thankful
for the opportunity. Feel free to drop us your inputs and thoughts on the case and the evidence
